Come on in!

Giving a name to someone, or something, can be a difficult process.   Of course names are important.  Once given it is hard to change.  Names tend to define.  I have had the joy of naming seven children.  I bought a few books of names as I began the journey of bearing children.  My husband and I would discuss different names, meanings, etc., but honestly, most of our children’s names were chosen simply because we liked the sound of the name.  Once the child was born, I would say their name over and over as I cared for them.  As each day passed, their name became more defining and representative of them.  It would now be most difficult to call them by any other name. Their name is part of who they are.

This same process has occurred in naming Define Dance and Arts Studio.  Various names have been tossed back and forth.  Some names were quickly trashed, while a few names stayed around for a short time, trying to make a fit.  Finally a name came and stayed.  I will share the naming process of this studio in more than just one blog entry, but let me just begin by sharing that as each day passes, the name becomes more “defining.”  Thank you for all the encouragement.  You are helping to “define” this studio.  Blessings and strength in your day.
